LEGO Scala

With the LEGO® Scala® series, which appeared briefly in 1979 - 1980 as a jewelry series with interchangeable decorations, another LEGO series for girls was introduced in 1997 parallel to Belville®. The slightly larger dolls could be fully clothed and were very much based on the popular Barbie dolls. Many parts have been specially redesigned for Scala; The main theme was, like Barbie®, dollhouses and accessories. Scala couldn't really assert itself between LEGO Belville and Mattel's® Barbie and was discontinued in 2001.
